RSM is a virtual-only con that does not use AI. There are products we use that contain AI (for example, Zoom), but the AI features are turned off whenever possible (and not used regardless). Within the panels at the con, the default position is anti-AI. We’re not interested in supposedly nuanced positions of how AI can be used ‘ethically.’ We don’t believe that’s possible.
The purpose of RSM is to provide a space for queer speculative writers to share their work and ideas, to provide a space for queer community to grow. There is no room within that for AI.
